Nine people are dead in a mass shooting - being described as a hate crime - at one of the oldest black churches in the US.

It happened in Charleston, South Carolina last night.

Officers say they're searching for a white suspect in his 20s.

Charleston Mayor, Joe Riley, says the person responsible will be found.
