No "Gotcha" moment for Govt in Banking Inquiry

The Fianna Fáil leader says the Government hasnÂ’'t secured the "‘gotchaÂ’" moment it had intended from the banking inquiry.

Micheál Martin says the coalition had a ‘political objectiveÂ’ in the timescale it set for the inquiry - but says the public are now ‘making up their own mindsÂ’ about the events leading up to the crash.

Former Fianna Fáil Taoisigh Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen, and former Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy have all appeared before the Committee in the past two weeks.

But party leader Micheál Martin says his colleagues have performed better in the eyes of the public than the current Government would have hoped:
