Gardai say no crimes are under investigation at the moment after images of Irish women were uploaded to an online forum without their consent.

They have examined the more than 10,000 pictures and videos shared online since it happened.

This afternoon Gardai confirmed there were no child abuse images among the documents leaked.

Yesterday Cabinet approved legislation to criminalise the sharing of intimate images without a persons consent.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee is hopeful the laws will be enacted by the end of the year.

Gardai are encouraging anyone who's been a victim of image-based sexual abuse to come forward and report their experience.
