Irish Water insists its staff are NOT removing water metres at Cork housing estate, after a month long standoff with residents.

The company has been in talks with locals at Ashbrook Heights in Togher after protestors stopped staff from installing the meters.

Irish Water says Workers arrived at the estate this morning to fix up the footpaths after work was abandoned.

Locals had been claiming a victory suggesting Irish Water is in the process of removing the meters.
