10 helicopters and a military plane are helping to search an area in the French Alps where a plane, carrying 150 people, came down.

The Germanwings Airbus A380 crashed in the French Alps on its way from Barcelona to Dusseldorf.

The dead are believed to include 16 German schoolchildren.

Officials say there are no survivors.

The cause of the crash is not known and the plane did not send out a distress signal

It's believed to have crashed after a rapid descent over eight minutes.
