Sinn Fein's deputy leader has said nobody within the party who "holds a candle" for people guilty of murder.
Mary Lou McDonald was responding to calls from the foreign affairs minister Charlie Flanagan, who says Sinn Féin needs to play its part in making sure the IRA disappears for good.
Meanwhile the North's first minister has criticised the Ulster Unionist Party for pulling out of power in Stormont - labelling the move as "irresponsible".
The UUP's Mike Nesbitt says the murder of Kevin McGuigan - which has been attributed to members of the IRA - is a "tipping point" for the North's peace process.
But the DUP leader and first minister Peter Robinson says it is "illogical" to pull out of the Executive - while also demanding that Sinn Féin maintain a solely peaceful strategy.
