The Finance Minister expects a lot of young people will 'take the plunge' and buy a new home, now that Budget 2016 has been unveiled.
Michael Noonan believes what he calls a 'very confident' budget will help drive supply in the market.
He's also denied he and the Environment Minister are fighting over plans to help renters, insisting they ran out of time to complete a package of measures, and that contacts between their departments will resume next week.
Minister Noonan acknowledges there's no 'quick fix' for the housing sector, but measures he's bringing forward will help:
