Residents of the Northeast are unhappy with Eirgrid's plans to forge ahead with the North-South Interconnector.
Eirgrid says an OVERHEAD line is still the most appropriate solution for the project to link Meath and Tyrone with high-voltage cables.
However alternatives are still on the table for Grid West and Grid Link - which applies to the southeast of the country.
Depending on the options implemented following a public consultation launched by Eirgrid today, the total cost of the projects will be between 2.7 billion and 3.9 billion euro.
