A behind-closed-doors meeting of Northern Ireland's policing board is currently underway.

It was urgently called - after major data breaches affected all PSNI officers and staff.

The meeting was planned to start at 10:00 AM but a short time ago, a convoy of unmarked police vehicles transporting Simon Byrne and other senior officers arrived on his way in, he was asked will he resign, but quietly replied that he will deal with that later.

He's now facing questions from the policing board about two data breaches that have come to light this week.

The first was described as monumental with details of all serving officers and staff being published online.

There's a 'severe' terror threat level in Northern Ireland - which has led to a certain level of secrecy among some members of the force.

Not everyone who works within the PSNI would feel comfortable - given the history in the North - to publicise the fact they work for the PSNI.

Some would still check under their cars every morning for devices - or even be careful on the route they take to work in case they're being followed.
