The ministerial reshuffle will be completed this afternoon when the lineup of Junior Ministers is announced in the Dail.
Some of those deputies who could be in line for a promotion include Ann Phelan, John Lyons, Simon Harris and Dara Murphy.
The Taoiseach says today's "not an easy day" as he faces the task of sacking several junior ministers.
All that's known for sure at this stage is that the government chief whip Paul Kehoe will keep his position, as will he two people who were already appointed to the Junior Ministerial ranks last week - Ged Nash and Jimmy Deenihan.
