A note found on an Aer Lingus plane this morning - claiming a bomb was on board - has been declared a hoax by gardai.

However an investigation is underway after the note was discovered in the toilet of the aircraft, inbound from Brussels to Dublin Airport.

Flight EI631 from Brussels was given priority to land at Dublin Airport, and when it touched down at 11:30 it was taken to a dedicated zone where gardaí searched the plane.

Nothing suspicious was found and gardaí have declared the incident a hoax.

All passengers were interviewed and have now disembarked from the plane.

It's one of three security alerts to have taken place at Dublin Airport overnight.

At about 10pm last night, a Yellow Alert was issued for a bomb threat in one of the terminals.

Separately, there was a partial evacuation of one of the piers at Terminal One this morning when a fire alarm went off.

All incidents have now been resolved.
