There has been widespread condemnation of last night's shooting in Belfast, which has claimed the life of a 33 year old man.
The victim was shot three times in the leg in an alleyway in the Ardoyne area of the city around 10 o'clock last night.
It has emerged that the victim's wife, a qualified nurse, heard the shots and rushed to his side to try and save his life.
However, the man later died from his injuries at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
