Did you hear the one about the 'Irish' tourist stopped by NZ police for putting his kayak on his roof crossways?

New Zealand Police issued a warning after the man was caught with his kayak on the roof the wrong way, saying he was an Irish tourist, because he apparently had an accent.

Police said 'the 'Irish tourist's' actions were beyond belief'.

But it turns out the driver is actually a kiwi from Auckland, and Police have now been forced to apologise to 'anyone of Irish descent who may have been offended and an attempt at enhancing foreign relations had in this case backfired'.
