President Obama's top economic advisor during the financial crisis says Ireland was "stupid" to guarantee the banks.
According to the Irish Independent, former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made the comments in interviews for his upcoming memoirs.
Mr Geithner said the previous Irish coalition couldn't afford to guarantee a banking sector which was 8 times the size of our economy.
