The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement says it hopes its report into the failures in the Sean Fitzpatrick investigation can be published soon.
The ODCE has welcomed changes announced by the Government earlier, that will make the office more independent.
It was part of a range of measures to tackle white collar crime.
