Day eight of the general election campaign will see party leaders continue their various tours of the country.

With crime dominating the last two days of election campaigning, Fianna Fáil's justice spokesman Niall Collins will this morning outline his plans to tackle serious crime and anti-social behaviour.

Enda Kenny's tour takes him to Sligo where he'll detail Fine Gael's plans to improve the lives of older people.

Labour and Joan Burton will take the other end of the spectrum when it outlines its plans for better and more affordable childcare.

Both she and Micheal Martin will also visit Bluebell in Dublin, to address a meeting of the IFA's Executive Council.

Sinn Fein will meanwhile launch its plans to improve workers' rights at party HQ in Dublin; Gerry Adams campaigns in Mayo and Roscommon.

Smaller parties will also hope for a moment in the limelight today - the Green Party will detail some of its plans on transport, while the Social Democrats will unveil plans to help indigenous business.
