Olympic hero Kenneth Egan could be about to swap the boxing ring for the ballot box.
The Beijing silver medallist is in talks with Fine Gael to run for South Dublin County Council.
He's expected to run in the Clondalkin ward in the elections this May.
This morning Taoiseach Enda Kenny confirmed that Egan is in talks to join the party:
