One new family became homeless every day in February.
New figures from the Department of the Environment show more than 3,100 people were homeless in the last week of February, when the general election took place.
That's an increase of almost 3 per cent in just one month.

600 of them were single parents - almost 1,900 were children - and over two-thirds were in Dublin.
