A man has been killed in an explosion in Co Tipperary.

The incident occurred shortly before 4pm on the N7 old Limerick Dublin road.

Nenagh gardai who are investigating the incident have closed the road and have set up diversions near Ashlawn Nursing Home.

Two members of the Health and Safety Authority have traveled to the scene and are conducting an independent investigation into the workplace incident.
