The Citizens Assembly has heard over two weekends that the world faces major problems.
Disscussions this weekend centred around Agriculture and Transport.
Professor John Fitzgerald, Chair of the Council says we need to plan for the future:
Members will vote this afternoon on recommendations to submit to the Houses of the Oireachtas.
The 99 citizens will be voting on 13 questions across 4 main areas: 1) Putting climate change considerations at centre of policy-making 2) Energy Policy 3) Transport Policy and 4) Agriculture and Land Use.
Taken together, these 13 recommendations have the potential to ensure Ireland catches up with the European average.
