Protests have taken place across the country calling for another referendum on abortion.

Over 1,000 demonstrated in Dublin demanding a change in the laws, with similar protests in Cork and Galway.

There were also events staged outside the Irish embassies in London and Berlin.

The action follows the case involving a suicidal woman who was refused abortion under the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act.
