Over 500 Drivers Caught Speeding On M7 Since Roadworks Started

More than 500 drivers have been caught speeding on the M7 in Kildare since works between Junction 8 and 11 have gotten underway.

Meanwhile, 32 motorists have been prosecuted for dangerous driving on the stretch of road.

Gardai say two vehicles have collided with barriers in the past week alone.

They involved a truck crashing through a barrier to avoid slowing traffic up ahead, while a van hit a barrier and landed in the works area.

The 60 km/h speed limit imposed while works are in place are regularly broken.

From Monday, two GoSafe Vans will monitor the route to encourage motorists to slow down.
