A man who was paralysed from the waist down after being stabbed can now walk again after having pioneering surgery.

The Bulgarian man had a completely severed spinal cord, but doctors were able to use cells from his nose to help broken tissue grow.

Experts in London developed the technique after fundraising by the father of a British teenager who was disabled in a swimming accident.
