Paramedic says accused told him: "I drove the car into the water”

A paramedic has told the jury in a Co Wicklow murder trial that the accused told him she drove her car into the sea at South Quay in Arklow.

Marta Herda of Pairc na Saile, Emoclew Road in Arklow denies deliberately entering the water to drown her colleague in March 2013.

Csaba Orsas who was a front seat passenger drowned in the incident.

The Central Criminal Court has heard evidence from Paul Quinn who was one of two paramedics called to the scene at South Quay in Arklow.

He said Ms Herda was very distressed and kept mentioning the name Csaba on the way to hospital.
