Dublin South West TD Paul Murphy says the Tánaiste is "hamming it up" over Saturday's water charge protest in Tallaght.
Joan Burton was trapped in her car for more than two hours by demonstrators.
The Tanaiste was hit by a water balloon and eggs were pelted at her car as protestors banged on the vehicle.
Garda reinforcement - including the garda helicopter - were called in.
The protest was organised by Anti-Austerity TD Paul Murphy.
On The Ray D'Arcy Show this morning, he accused the Tánaiste of hamming it up...
Paul Murphy went on to criticise the actions of gardaí at another water protest in Dublin yesterday.
In a video that has gone viral on Facebook, a number of gardaí are seen throwing a female protester off the Taoiseach's car and onto a metal bollard.
