A 24-year-old woman has been knocked down and killed in County Galway.
She was one of two people hit by a car just off the N17 in Aucloggeen, Claregalway in the early hours of this morning.
The other pedestrian - a man in his 20s - has been taken to to University College Hospital Galway - but his injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
A post-mortem is to be carried out on the body of the dead woman.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Mill Street Garda Station.
