A woman has died after being struck by a car in Co Limerick last night.

It happened on the N20 at Ballynabanogue in Croom at about a quarter past seven.

The victim - an 82-year-old pedestrian - was hit by the car as she crossed the road.

She was pronounced dead at the sceen and removed to Limerick Regional Hospital.
