A 67 year old man has been arrested following the discovery of a body at his house in Rathmines in South Dublin.

Gardaí were called to an incident in a house in Summerville Park shortly before midnight last night (Monday).

They found a 59-year-old man who was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dr Marie Cassidy carried out a post mortem on the body at the City Morgue today.

The 67-year-old was arrested this morning and is being questioned at Rathmines Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
