A new survey shows people are paying more to live close to primary and secondary schools.
According to property website DAFT-dot-ie, homeowners are paying €4,700 on average, to live within 200 metres of a primary school and €3,600 to live nearby post primary schools.
The research shows this rises to an average of €€25,000 for primary schools in South County Dublin.
Assistant Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin and Economist at Daft-dot-ie, Ronan Lyons, says the report highlights proximity to primary schools costs more in rural areas than cities and towns, but less for post primary schools.
