People are again being reminded to stay safe on the water, after the Lough Derg Lifeboat rescued 12 people today in two back to back callouts.
The Lifeboat first assisted a family of 7 - three adults and four children - after their cruiser ran aground at the Goat Road.
As the Lifeboat was returning, it assisted a a family of five - two adults and three children - whose cruiser had run aground by Ryan's Point.
Some of those on board were not wearing lifejackets.
In another incident, the Galway Lifeboat rescued three men, whose sailboat hit rocks after its engine cut out.
The RNLI says people should carry enough lifejackets for everyone on board and ensure they wear them, and study their navigational charts.
