A Labour TD has proposed a Bill for longer, brighter evenings - saying Irish people have never needed to go from darkness into light so badly.
Tommy Broughan wants to put the clocks forward by one hour for good, putting us in line with Central European Time.
However, the Bill has failed to make it out of the traps - it's been adjourned over concerns about having a different time zone to the UK.
