Planning permission is expected to be lodged later for the new National Children's Hospital at St James' in Dublin.

The 650 million euro development would combine the services at the three existing hospitals in Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street.

However children's groups have objected to the location of the new hospital, with some saying it should be built on the campus of Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown.

CEO of the Jack and Jill foundation Jonathan Irwin says that there's a lot of problems with the current plan.
