The Government is creating drug users through its inaction on homelessness, according to a leading campaigner.
Fr Peter McVerry says housing should be provided instead of forcing people into hostels.

The Peter McVerry Trust called for more one and two bed rapid-build homes in their pre-budget submission earlier.
The charity suggests houses could be built in as little as three months if rapid building was done properly.

It comes as they predict there will be 8,300 people living in homeless accommodation on Budget Day in October.
Fr McVerry, meanwhile, says many homeless people would prefer to be on the streets than in shelters where drugs are being used:
