Oscar Pistorius has pleaded not guilty to murdering his girlfriend.

The charges were put ot him at the opening of his trial for murder this morning.

The Paralympian is accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year.

The athlete denies the charge, saying he shot the model at his home because he thought she was an intruder.

His lawyer Barry Roux outlined the central planks of his defence in court this morning....
