It really was all #planesailing in the end.
The Boeing 767 has been brought inland in County Sligo.
Its long journey by sea from Shannon sparked the country's interest.
Today FM's Anton Savage has been following it all the way and was at the beach for the momentous occasion.

The plane first touched down at Enniscrone shortly before 7pm after the original landing planned for this morning had to be abandoned due to the weather.

Crews continued working after dark to bring the plane ashore, with the help of lighting towers.
Local entrepreneur and undertaker David McGowan wants to convert it into luxury glamping accommodation.
