UPDATE: 14 Dead in California Mass Shooting

Two of the suspects in the deadly mass shooting in California are believed to have been killed. 

A high speed police chase of a black SVU ended with a shoot out, one police officer suffered non life threatening injuries in the pursuit of the suspected gunmen. 

Up to 14 people were killed when gunmen opened fire inside a building in the city of San Bernardino in southern California.

Another 17 people have been removed to hospital after being injured in the shoot out at the social services centre,  which provides training for people with disabilities.

The FBI has joined local police forces at the scene and says at this stage it is NOT known if the incident is a terrorist attack. 

It's believed three gunmen were involved in the attack and one remains at large. 

Several hundred people were in the building at the time of the shooting, it's understood a Christmas party was being held at the time. 

Chief Sheriff Jarrod Burguan is leading the investigation: 

President Barack Obama says laws need to be changed to prevent mass shootings in America.

Speaking in reaction to, today's incident in San Bernardino he says,  "Our hearts go out to the victims and their families".

President Obama says while the gunmen's motives are not known yet - more can be done to tackle gun crime:
