Police are treating a gun attack on two officers in West Belfast as attempted murder.

Up to eight shots were fired at their vehicle in the Andersonstown area this evening.

Both officers escaped unhurt.

They'd been parked outside the home of a traveler who was shot in the head last week at the time of the attack.

However the incidents are not believed to be connected.
