Five Pomeranian puppies have been handed over to the DSPCA after they were found in the back of a van at Dublin Port - bound for England.

They had no pet passports and have now been handed over to the DSPCA where they will be quarantined.

One of the puppies is said to be extremely ill.

They will all now be put up for adoption.

There has been a number of similar incidents in recent weeks.
