A U.S. police officer has resigned after being filmed wrestling a 14-year-old girl wearing a bikini to the ground at a pool party.

He was responding to complaints about the gathering at a community-owned swimming pool in Texas.

Officer Eric Casebolt has now left the McKinney force after almost 10 years.
