A beach in Cork is the latest to close because of poor water quality, as Met Eireann issues a warning that more rain is on the way.
Swimming is already banned at 7 Dublin beaches aswell as Brittas Bay south in Wicklow, after heavy rain caused higher levels of bacteria in the water.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for later today - with more heavy rainfall expected.
Up to 35 millimetres of rain could fall in parts of Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Tipperary and Waterford.
The latest beach closure is Garryvoe Beach in east Cork, after heavy rain caused a suspected sewage discharge.
