The Pope's tour will take him to the United States today.

Pope Francis is travelling from Cuba, where he led 300-thousand people in a mass in Havana's Revolution Square.

He's been credited with helping the recent thaw in diplomatic ties between Cuba and the US and has praised the two countries as "an example of reconciliation for the whole world".

The Pontiff is in Washington today for meetings with President Obama and to address the US Congress and United Nations.
