Jeremy Clarkson faces possible police action for what the BBC described as an "unprovoked attack" that left a producer with a split lip.

North Yorkshire Police says it's asked the broadcaster for its report on the incident at a hotel in the county and says action will be taken 'where necessary'.

The BBC's confirmed it won't be renewing the Top Gear star's contract.

Leaving his home in London last night, Jeremy Clarkson refused to comment about that.
