A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a two-year-old boy in Limerick.

The toddler was found at an apartment on Parnell Street in the city at around 4.30 yesterday afternoon.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his remains were taken to University Hospital Limerick. where Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis will carry out the post mortem.
