A post mortem is due to be carried out on the body of a 31 year old man who died after a stabbing incident in Ennis in Co Clare last night.

The Deputy State pathologist Dr Michael Curtis will carry out a post mortem this afternoon at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The Polish man was stabbed at a house in the Sandfield Mews Estate in the town at around 1 am this morning.  The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.

A second man - aged 39 - was found near the scene suffering from injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Gardai are continuing to question 3 people in relation to the incident.

They are being held at stations in Ennis and Shannon.
