The ESB says some customers in the most rural areas may be without power until Thursday.
Around 25 thousand customers are still out, after stormy weather on Wednesday caused widespread damage to the electricity network.
The main faults are Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Waterford.
Bevin Cody of ESB Networks says power will be restored in the coming days.
