The ESB says it has restored electricity to all but about fifty customers whose supply was affected by Storm Doris.

In total, the network says it has reconnected about 57 thousand households that experienced blackouts starting on Wednesday night.

About twenty homes near Carrick-on-Shannon are expected to remain without power overnight, with the rest in isolated pockets throughout the country.

A spokesperson says ESB repair crews remain on standby and expect to have all faults repaired by tomorrow.
