A study claims a hormone deficiency in pregnant women increases the chances of their children being bad at maths.

Researchers found those born to mothers with low levels of a thyroid hormone are 60 per cent more likely to have problems by the time they reach school age.

Tests could identify children who may need extra help.

Professor Saffron Whitehead, who's an expert in hormones, has this advice for expectant mums.
