Over one million people are expected in Dublin this weekend for the centenary celebrations.

A series of State ceremonial events will get underway from today to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1916 rising.

The official State events will commence at midday with a special ceremony in the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin.

The President's rejected the idea that celebrating the centenary could cause unrest.
