A well known priest has died in a house fire in Co Kerry.

The blaze broke out at the house in Fenit village near Tralee in the early hours of this morning.

82 year old Gearoid O'Donnchada was a retired lecturer and local historian.

The cause of the fire is being investigated but Gardai are not treating it as suspicious.
