A mother from Florida who runs a pro-gun Facebook page is recovering in hospital - after being shot in the back by her four-year-old son.

Police say they saw Jamie Gilt in distress in her pick-up truck on Tuesday afternoon.

Her son - who was unharmed - was sitting in the back seat.

Local police spokesman Joseph Wells says they're now investigating.
